Foolishly thinking that her boss was a guillable person, local sources report office woman Debra Chan was staying determined not to swipe open her boss' Whatsapp texts in a futile attempt to delay her work responsibilities.
"Perhaps later. I'm in the middle of something important," said Debra, as she aimlessly scrolled through her Instagram feed.
Whatsapp shows users grey ticks if it a text has been successfully sent, and blue ticks when a recipent has opened Whatsapp to read your message.
"If he doesn't see the blue ticks, he'll think I'm asleep or I'm just preoccupied at the moment," said Debra, hoping her flimsy deception can buy her at least another 8 hours of procrastination from work.
"This is why I love Whatsapp. I can read the texts from my lock screen or notification center, and the other person won't know it," continued the slacker.
"It really helps when outings are being organised in group chats. I can take my time and see the other responses before committing to an outing."
At press time, sources report that Debra has turned off her cellular data to prevent incoming Whatsapp texts to be delivered to her iPhone as she went to make a coffee.
