Sources report that Singaporeans from all walks of life are almost convinced that the 28th South East Asian games matter thanks to its widespread advertising and lavishly grand opening last night.
"I didn't think the SEA games were a big deal initially but now I'm really starting to buy into it," said Ramdan, adding that it was the endless streaks of bright red banners plastered with the red SG50 logo around his HDB blocks which started to convince him that the SEA games mattered.
"It was the spectacular performances at the opening last night that really won me over. I guess if Singapore invests enough amounts of taxpayer’s money into the event, it’s an indication of how truly important the SEA games are," continued Ramdan.
“Let’s not forget that the competitions are participated by a grand total 11 countries out of the existing 195 in the world. That’s a whopping 6% of all the nations in the world!”
Local public relations consultant Raymond Ang told reporters that he originally felt unconcerned toward the SEA games, until he “must’ve heard the SEA games advertisement a dozen fucking times in two hours on local radio stations" that triggered him to start questioning the importance of the games.
"I’m glad the government is a doing a great job in PR of hyping up the event. Otherwise, the majority of us Singaporeans would have went on completely ignorant of how big of a deal the SEA games actually were,” said Raymond.
