Local tech startup, Focusolution, has found the perfect solution for pedestrians who like to walk and use their smartphones at the same time. After years of research and millions in R&D funding, Focusolution announced Monday the first prototype of their device that will end all smartphone-related accidents. They are calling it the "ATAPANS" (All Terrain All Personnel Avoidance Navigation System), a simple, barely noticeable latch-on headgear that activates whenever its wearer looks down into the smartphone for more than 5 seconds. The ATAPANS will then flash blinding lights and ring incessantly, not unlike a siren, as a reminder for the user to focus and look up - upon which it will deactivate. “Nowadays, we have very little time. Multitasking has become a necessity," said Tan Beng Huat, head of Focusolution's R&D. "However, multitasking has led to a sharp increase in smartphone-related road accidents. We believe that the ATAPANS is the perfect solution to this problem." “Safety was of course our first concern. However, our R&D has managed to make the ATAPANS stylish too,” claims Ang Teo Ming, head honcho of Focusolution. “We are beyond excited to see ATAPANS on the streets.” Focusolution expects the ATAPANS to be available to consumers before the end of the year.
