After decades of mispronunciation of its name – Newton Circle, Newton Circles, Newton Sir Curse – the board of directors behind the iconic food court has decided to open an actual circus, named the Newton Circus' Circus (NCC).
“Enough with this confusion. After this change, there will be no more mistaking what we are truly about: great food at great prices and now, a unique family-friendly entertainment experience,” said Sambell S. Ray, COO of the Newton Food Council.
The underused current parking lot will be turned into a performing area, complete with an air-conditioned tent. Performers include politicians jumping through hoops, socialites swimming in the only pools shallower than their personalities, property agents diving from heights as high as property prices, and many more.
Food is still only to be consumed at the non-air-conditioned area as the scent of the food may distract some of the performers. Newton residents were excited when asked about the upcoming changes.
“Yes, we can't wait for Newton Circus' Circus to open. I will have to come down here more often,” said Madam B. Hoon, only to quickly change her answer in true Singaporean fashion when she found out the amusement park charged an admission fee.
“Wah lao. Food so ex(expensive) already, circus also must pay?”
The Newton Circus' Circus has set its opening date to sometime in February 2016, while pre-ordering of tickets to the first show will start at the end of this year.
